chords, melodies is a four-day festival presenting music that explores fine-grained pitch relations or adopts a minimal or reduced approach to sound. Whether the focus is on the former or the latter, the works presented share a sense of fragility and detail that is woven into the elusive fabric of music.

"In my work I seek to make forms, which evolve in time, their unfolding inviting a continuous listening-through, but also forms that come close to the experience of visual or sculptural objects, in which the journeys around and through a seen space, gathered in our minds, have no real beginning or end.
Harmonic Space, the way in which our process of auditory cognition builds and dissolves tonal relationships out of sounds, has been my way into exploring this kind of listening, where one harmony or constellation unfolds into another, making pathways, links, multiple possibilities which return in constantly renewed shapes; expressed simply: chords, melodies." —Marc Sabat
